42054 alternate model - Wheel Loader. Features two manual and two motorized functions. Instructions can be bought at <a href="https://sellfy.com/p/fl2O/">Sellfy</a>.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>My second try on making one set MOC. I have decided to make a wheel
loader, because Xerion comes with wheels that suits a wheel loader
perfectly. The main goal was to have easy operated wheel loader, so I
have decided to use gearbox that works like that used in 42042 - battery
box turns the motor ON/OFF, levers controls functions and direction
they works in.<br /><br />There are two manual functions, which are Hand od God steering and grapple closing/opening.<br />Motorized functions are arm & grapple movement.<br /><br />The
biggest challenge while building this model was to have appropriate
range of movement of the arm, while using only three small linear
actuators with their short stroke.<br />

<br />
From 16th to 18th September 2015 I was at International Copper Ore Mining Congress at Sandvik exposision hall. Yes, year ago.<br />
But now it is time to show this model, because it will be taken apart shortly :)<br />
<br />
It was built in a hurry, under 3 weeks, for Sandvik exhibition .As a result of such rush it ended quite <br />well, but if there was much more time given, it could be much better. For example the drive system did not worked at all, becuase model was too heavy at the end of building process and there was no time for rebuilds. Anyway, it did not had too many space on the table for moving freely, so having no propulsion was no a big problem :)<br /><br />Features six pneumatic and four motorized functions. Pneumatic system is fed from single manual pump placed on the controller:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/42.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/42.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<br /> The motors that drive conveyors and cutting head are connected to the same PF switch. Both conveyors are made with using two rows of 3L track links. Main conveyor uses 336 of them while rear one uses 270.<br />
<br />
Main conveyor is driven by single M motor. The loading stars are driven by the conveyor, using bevel gears underneath the loading table.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/44.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/44.jpg" height="304" width="640" /></a><a href="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/47.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/47.jpg" height="304" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/28.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/28.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The loading table can be elevated (by two large cylinders) and widened (by two small cylinders) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/03.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Rear conveyor is also driven by single M motor, located on the rear part of the chassis. Its drivetrain <br />comes trough new z60 turntable, which is the only mounting point for the conveyor on the chassis. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/45.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/45.jpg" height="305" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
It can be rotated, a large pneumatic cylinder has enough force to swing it from side to side. Due to its weight, rear part of the chassis under the turntable has a small wheel underneath, which handles the weight of the conveyor and prevents the frame from bending:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/21.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/21.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The cutter boom can be elevated (by two large cylinders) and extended (by 11L cylinder). 47154c01 motor drives the cutter head.A single M motor is responsible for rotating the whole boom.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/48.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/48.jpg" height="306" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/07.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/07.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Stabilizng plate on the rear can be elevated (by two small cylinders).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/12.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
There's a drivetrain hidden deep in the chassis, that was supposed to drive both tracks. But as a result of building in a hurry, it is not able to move the heavy model.<br /><br />A failure, but also a beautiful disaster :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/46.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/sandvik-mh620/46.jpg" height="306" width="640" /></a></div>

Minifig scale model, based on Liebherr L580 wheel loader.<br />
This time it does not move, because wheels are fixed to the frame. But it can move the arm and bucket.<br />
I have forgot how enjoyable can be making such small models.<br />

The model has over 2400 parts and features remotely controlled drive, steering and dumping. The drive system uses a Power Function XL motor through two rear axles. Propulsion system is powerful enough to pull over two kgs behind it. In this case, it was two of mine models, wheel loader on a drabwar trailer. Two front axles are steered by a Power Functions Servo motor. The dump bed is elevated by single linear actuator, driven by L motor. The model is powered by a standard Power Functions battery box, which can be easily replaced by tilting the cab. It also powers front Power Functions lights. The model is highly accurate featuring a fully detailed cabin with steering wheel, dashboard, and seats. Exterior features many small details like spare wheel and retractable ladder on the dump bed, which makes the model more realistic. This truck does not use rare parts, which was the main goal in the rebuilding process.<br />

This is scale model of a drawbar trailer, is based on Schwarzmuller 4-axle low loader trailer with offset platform. It was designed to be able to haul heavy models, like mine Liebherr L580 Wheel Loader. It works well in pair with my MAN TGS dump truck. The model has over 1400 parts. To achieve realistic looks, it uses Reddish Brown tiles in high quantities as hardwood floor parts. Loading ramps on the back can be raised and lowered by single, manual operated small Linear Actuator, placed under the trailer’s floor. They can be locked in driving position by using chains. There are two small supports under the ramps, which could be lowered to stabilize rear part of the trailer when machine moves on the ramps. Model features lots of details, like extendable warning flags on the front and rear, that can match excessed width of transported machine, 7 pairs of additional mounting points on the floor, contour lights and revolving beacon on the left ramp <br />
